CINE LATINA
Cine Latina es una empresa productora fundada en el 2013 por la cineasta Diana Ojeda, cuyos proyectos reflexionan acerca de distintas dinámicas sociales que afectan a poblaciones minoritarias en América Latina a través del cine documental y ficcional, por medio de obras como:
‘Los Hijos del Catatumbo’ (2013), ganador del premio a Mejor Cortometraje Documental de Bogoshorts. ‘Pantaleón’ (2019) estrenada en LakeView Fest India, distribuida por Atmósfera TV y vendida a RTVC, la cual además gana un Peer Raben Award en Alemania a Mejor Música, Mejor Cinematografía en el Bright Ideas Film Fest de USA y Mejor Cortometraje en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Santander.
El primer proyecto de largometraje documental ‘Las Bravas’ pasa por mercados como DocMontevideo, Conecta Chile y queda seleccionado en la sección Spotlights Projects de Cannes Docs 2022; más adelante gana un premio de Realización del FDC y actualmente se encuentra en etapa de posproducción. ‘Uno de los chicos’ es el siguiente cortometraje de ficción, que estuvo seleccionado en el BFM de Bogoshorts y ganó un estímulo de Realización FDC, en el 2023.
Cine Latina is a production company founded in 2013 by filmmaker Diana Ojeda, whose projects reflect on different social dynamics that affect minority populations in Latin America through documentary and fictional cinema, through works such as:
‘The Children of Catatumbo’ (2013), winner of the Bogoshorts Best Documentary Short Film award. 'Pantaleón' (2019) premiered at LakeView Fest India, distributed by Atmósfera TV and sold to RTVC, which also won a Peer Raben Award in Germany for Best Music, Best Cinematography at the Bright Ideas Film Fest in the USA and Best Short Film at the Santander International Film Festival.
The first feature-length documentary project 'The Braves' goes through markets such as DocMontevideo, Conecta Chile and is selected in the Spotlights Projects section of Cannes Docs 2022; It later won a Filmmaking award from the FDC and is currently in post-production. 'One of the Boys' is the following fiction short film, which was selected in the BFM of Bogoshorts and won an FDC Realization stimulus, in 2023.
DIANA OJEDA
Diana Ojeda es una directora y guionista Santandereana (Colombia) cuyas películas propenden por ser descolonizadoras en términos de temas, estructura narrativa y personajes, tanto como en su proceso de producción. Trabaja con sujetos marginados cuyas historias no se ven en los principales medios ni son consideradas importantes por la sociedad colonial, esto incluye historias de comunidades campesinas, refugiadas, indígenas y mujeres latinoamericanas que luchan por la igualdad y la liberación femenina.
Director and screenwriter, founded Cine Latina in 2013, she made a series of documentaries on the peasant and native exodus at the Colombian Northeast jungle by the hand of Human Rights Organizations. Her first independent work The Children of Catatumbo was evidence before the IACHR.Diana is a San Francisco based latin-american filmmaker who strives for her films to be decolonizing in terms of topics, narrative structure, characters as well as in the production process. Working with marginalized subjects whose stories are not seen in the main media or considered important by the colonial society. This includes peasants who defend their land from the paramilitaries, refugees, native people, and racialized Latin American women who struggle for equality and liberation.
